Creating an order with a seamstress from start to finish

Now that you've created an account, we will show you how to place an order with a seamstress!

  1. First, look for a preferred seamstress. You can do this in 2 ways:

  2. Search by name and alteration type

If you know the name of your seamstress' business or what type of clothes you want to alter (skirt, jeans, cheongsam, etc...), you can use the search bar on the home page.

    1. Type the seamstress' business name or tick your alteration type (or both!)
    2. Click the red "Search By Name" button.
    3. Your results will be updated based on what you type!

    Search by location

If you want to look for a seamstress in a particular neighborhood, you can search them by location as well.

    1. Click "Search Seamstress" on the top menu bar.

    2. This will take you to a map of seamstresses. In the search bar, type the name of your preferred location.
    3. Press enter to generate results.

  3. Next, click on the profile of your preferred seamstress.

  4. To ask a seamstress to start an order, click "Messages".
After clicking messages, you will view a chatbox with your seamstress and all other seamstresses you have messaged before.

  5. You may either coordinate a convenient time to do a fitting at their store, or arrange for your clothes to be delivered to the seamstress' store with the relevant fitting details.

  6. Once your seamstress creates your order, you will get an email notification saying that your order is pending confirmation.

  7. Click on your name at the top right hand corner of the website.

    Click the Order History button.

  8. Your latest order will be on the top of the list. Click "Confirm" to confirm your order.

  9. You will then be asked to make payment for your order. Payment is securely done by credit card through Stripe.

  10. Your order status will be then changed to Paid - In Progress until your seamstress is done with your order.

  11. When your order is ready, you will receive an email notification, and the seamstress will coordinate a time for you to pick up or receive your order.

  12. IMPORTANT STEP: This ensures that seamstresses are paid for their work! Once you have received your order and verified that all alterations are done correctly, click “Mark as Collected” in Order History.

  13. And you’re done! Don't forget to leave you a review and upload pictures of your seamstress' great work!
